Youth America Grand Prix awards local Ballet School with exceptional honor
Hamilton Twp., 03/05/23. BalletCNJ, a local ballet school, announced that it was named the winner of the Outstanding School Award in the YAGP New York 2023 semi-final.
The award highlights BalletCNJ’s mission and commitment to providing the community with the highest quality of ballet and dance education to every student in the central New Jersey area. Since its founding in 2011, BalletCNJ strives to designate New Jersey as a region that produces top-tier dancers and unforgettable artists.
“We are so honored for this recognition,” said school director Thiago Silva. “We could not be more proud of the wonderful community we have created.”
The Outstanding School Award was given by Youth America Grand Prix, the world's largest non-profit student ballet competition and scholarship program.
The award is given in recognition of a school’s body of work and students’ performances. It is part of a special group of awards presented by YAGP at the semi-finals every year.
BalletCNJ directors have been awarded Outstanding Teachers for 3 consecutive years, up until 2022. This is the first time BalletCNJ has won the Outstanding School Award, which commemorates the success of the school, the staff, and its students as a whole.
“We dedicate this to our students and families,” said artistic director Alexander Dutko. “It means a lot to us. Especially after the pandemic, this means we’re stronger than ever.”
Along with this award, BalletCNJ has been invited to participate in the YAGP international finals for groups and soloists representing the USA and NJ. The finals are held at the Straz Center for the Performing Arts in Tampa, FL.
