Spring Performance 2024

Audition Information

Auditions are for Refinement & Artistry Students only (Ballet II-VI)

​

This year’s BalletCNJ Spring Performance will be an original Contemporary piece, Les Sylphides, and Young Dancer Ballet – “Petite Pique-Nique”. Performance week will be from May 28th to June 1st. Students MUST hand in agreements prior to audition. Dancer Division students must audition for the performance after class on January 27th, 2024. Class prior to audition is mandatory for each participating dancer. BalletCNJ is excited for each dancer to participate in this unique and great performance opportunity. All dancers are required to read, sign the dancer agreement, and submit the performance fee via the form below.

Please note:

  • Commitment requires rehearsal availability on Thursday Evenings (6:00-9:30 pm) and Saturdays (1:30-6:30 pm).

  • All dancers must attend class prior to rehearsals to allow dancers to be fully warmed up to prevent injury.

  • Dancers must be available for additional evenings and weekend rehearsals the week prior to the performances (May 28th – June 1st) for put together rehearsals, run throughs, and tech/spacing/dress rehearsals. NO EXCEPTIONS!

  • Any conflicts must be brought to the director’s attention ASAP. Ample notice is crucial for scheduling.

  • Participants will be responsible for upholding high standards for all roles they are cast to perform/understudy.

  • Rehearsal Schedules and Casting will be sent to you via email, as well as posted on the Board located in the hallway just outside the lobby. Each week’s rehearsal schedule will be posted no later than Monday of each Week. NOTE: rehearsal schedule is updated weekly, make sure to save the original link that is emailed to you as that will be the same link used up until the performance.


Dates:

  • Audition: Saturday, January 27th after class from 1:30pm-3:30pm

    • All dancers auditioning must attend class prior to the audition from 12pm-1:30​

  • Rehearsals: Begin Saturday, February 3rd.

  • Spring Performance 2024:​

    • Performance Week: May 28th, 2024 - June 1st, 2024​

    • Performance dates: Friday, May 31st & Saturday, June 1st - Times TBA

Performance Fee:

  • $250.00

  • Includes Audition, Costume, and Rehearsal/Performance Participation.

  • No Performance Tickets are included. Tickets will go on sale a few weeks prior to performances.

  • All payments are final and non-refundable.

Please, agree to and sign the Performance Dancer Agreement and fill out the Audition Registration Form to pay the Performance Fee. Only one submission per dancer. 

BalletCNJ Performance Dancer Agreement

The dancer registering for the audition would like to participate in BalletCNJ’s 2024 Spring Performances. In order to participate, the dancer agrees to the below stated rules and guidelines for this performance:

1. Dancers MUST ATTEND all scheduled rehearsals for their part.

2. Dancers missing more than (1) rehearsal may be replaced per the director’s discretion.

3. Attendance of Dress Rehearsal and all Put Together Rehearsals is MANDATORY.

4. Attendance during Performance Week is MANDATORY.

5. Dancers are REQUIRED to be at all performances.

6. All students participating in rehearsals MUST ATTEND their registered classes.

7. Dancers agree to be courteous and respectful to other cast members, teachers and parent volunteers.

8. Dancers should arrive on time to all classes and rehearsals and be dressed in proper dance attire.

9. Dancers must be enrolled at BalletCNJ to participate.

10. Dancers must attend technique class prior to rehearsal to be properly warmed up.

11. All Casting is final.

12. Participant agrees to pay a $250 Performance Fee. Includes: audition, costume, and rehearsal/performance participation.

13. ALL PAYMENTS ARE FINAL AND NON-REFUNDABLE.
